Department
of Mechanical Engineering Research & Activities |
The department has at the moment an experienced
faculty strength of 8 (2 Professors, 2 Assistant Professors
and 4 Lecturers). Recruitment of additional faculty members
matching with the student population is a continuing process,
in tune with the policies of the college. Besides, the department
has the expert guidance and advise of the Principal who himself
is a Mechanical Engineer with more than 30 years of teaching
experience in USA. Well equipped laboratories and work shops,
exceeding the requirements stipulated by JNTU are in operation
in order to support R&D activities of the faculty, besides
giving practical exposure to the students complementing the
theoretical knowledge gained in the class room. All the labs
are supported by well trained and experienced technical staff.
Some of the research
areas in progress by the faculty members or planned to be
taken up in the near future are:
1. Influence
of machining parameters on surface roughness
2. Rapid
Prototyping
3. Composite
materials and products
4. Material
Science and Engineering
5. Powder
Metallurgy
6. Performance
enhancement in Heat Exchangers through CFD approach
7. Gear
Drives & Gear Correction
