In these days of eroding standards, Nalla Malla Reddy Education Society has taken up technical education by establishing Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College in the best of environs with a magnificent structure and created the best of infrastructure for a delightful learning making it a ‘Complete Institution’, moulding the students into the best, versatile, honest engineers and scientists with ‘Complete Education’, imparting education as it has to be.
NMREC is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to JNTU Hyderabad. NMREC is offering 5 B.Tech. programs, 4 M.Tech. programs in addition to an MBA program.
The B.Tech programs in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering are accredited for the second time by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
The college is accredited by NAAC with an A grade.
NMREC is located in peaceful and pollution free atmosphere located at about 17 km from the centre of Hyderabad city. The institute from a humble beginning has grown into a reputed centre of academic excellence.
NMREC focuses on the all-round development of its students. The college encourages them to participate in research activities, sports, cultural, social, co-curricular and extracurricular activities to ensure that they are fully groomed graduates for overall development which results in intellectual growth and development of individual students as future engineers to suit the growing needs and aspirations of the nation in future.
The labs are equipped with excellent infrastructure and equipment to enable the students to excel in their field of engineering by practical experimentation studies and to pursue their research ideas. The faculty of the college are well experienced and well trained. Research Centres have been established in all the departments. An Industry Institute Coordination Cell is available to foster industry-institute interaction through industrial visits and internships.
Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the college advises and monitors the quality initiatives. As part of quality improvement, senior professors in the subject review the faculty course plans and assessment plans to monitor the course alignment to the institute vision and mission.
Language development programs for improvement of communication skills, Professional Development Courses to impart technical skills in niche areas, and Placement trainings are regularly conducted for the students.
Students of the college have been placed all over the world in well known organisations and some are self employed. During the semester breaks, students are encouraged to take up internships and projects.
Two students of the institute got selected for a fully funded internship in UPCT, Spain under student mobility of the European Union Erasmus funding. Two faculty of the college visited UPCT in Spain as part of faculty mobility.
NMREC students have won accolades in many inter institutional competitions both in technical, and nontechnical domains. Some represented the affiliating University in national level sports events.
The college takes pride in announcing that Research papers were published and patents have been filed by the students of NMREC.
Courses
The college has 6 academic departments CSE, ECE, EEE, Mechanical, Civil, Management Studies, and supporting departments – Mathematics and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Engineering Departments offer B.Tech in CSE, ECE, EEE, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering.
The Department of Management Studies offers MBA program for graduates.
The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department offers M.Tech in VLSI Systems design.
M.Tech in Computer Networks and Information Security is offered by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with CAD/CAM specialisation is being offered by the department of Mechanical Engineering.
M.Tech in Electrical Power Engineering is offered under the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Faculty
The teaching faculty of the college are well qualified and from varied backgrounds consisting of research, teaching, and industry. Our faculty include highly experienced industry personnel from reputed organizations and eminent academicians from state universities and national institutes.
Professional Societies
The college has a Computer Society of India (CSI) student chapter, IEEE student chapter, IETE college chapter, Association of Electrical Engineers (AEE), and an Association of Mechanical Engineers (AME). The college also has an ISTE faculty chapter.
The college is also an institutional member in the IUCEE (Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education) Consortium.
Faculty Development and Research
Understanding that the improvement in teaching in turn would lead to the increase in the quality of the engineers, the college has set up a center for faculty development and management (CFDM) back in 2007. The center takes care of the faculty development needs and regularly conducts workshops and training programs for faculty within the college and also for faculty from outside. It is headed by the senior professor who is a specialist in faculty training.
The research centers of the college have been started to involve and improve research culture among the students and faculty. The college encourages the faculty in research work by sponsoring them to attend conferences/workshops, and enroll in doctoral studies. The faculty are encouraged to publish their work by providing incentives for publishing papers at both national and international levels. The college conducts an annual Industry Institute research meet to foster ties between the institute and the industry. The college also has plans to setup research centers in all the departments to encourage the students in pursuing research.
The students are given thorough knowledge in both theory and practical subjects by making them involve in the subject through activities and regular participation. Regular assignments and projects help them in tuning their skills and learning new technologies which would help them in their future endeavors.
