SAVE ENVIRONMENT SAVE LIFE
Eco club is a platform to learn and share the knowledge about environment. The club consists of students guided by faculty members. The club members conduct activities to raise awareness about conservation of natural sources, environment, create awareness of biodiversity conservations and local environmental issues.
Activities like Plantation Drive, Swachhata Awareness day, Painting Competitions, Poster Presentation, Essay Writing competition and many others are conducted under the Eco club.
Even during the pandemic situation, activities were conducted through virtual mode to create awareness of biodiversity conservations and local environmental issues among the students.
Mission of Eco Club
⦁ Motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees
⦁ Motivate the students to minimize the use of water.
⦁ Motivate the students to imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste generation, source separation of waste and disposing the waste to the nearest storage point.
⦁ Educate students to create awareness amongst public and sanitary workers, so as to stop the indiscriminate burning of waste which causes respiratory diseases.
⦁ Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags, not to throw them in public places as they choke drains and sewers, cause water logging and provide breeding ground for mosquitoes.
⦁ Organize tree plantation programs, awareness programs such as Quiz, essay, painting competitions, etc. regarding various environmental issues and educate children about re-use of waste material & preparation of products out of waste
⦁ Organize Nature Trail in Wild Life Sanctuaries/Parks/Forest areas to know about the Bio-diversity
Eco club activities in the year of 2020-2021
Plantation Drive:
Tree plantation drive was organized on 5th June 2021 to create social awareness about the importance of trees. A workshop was also arranged where the students were inspired to plant more and more trees and were encouraged to take necessary steps in order to conserve environment. The teachers enlightened the students to take an oath for planting trees as well as nurturing trees to prevent future.
Swachhata Awareness Program:
To motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean Swachhata Awareness Program was conducted on 12th June 2021 under the Eco club. Students took initiative of cleanliness in their surroundings.
Essay Writing Competition:
An Essay writing competition was held in college on 12th August 2021 for I.B.Tech students. The Topic was Significant change in environment in India has witnessed after Independence. Most of the students took part in the competition quite enthusiastically and presented their ideas for the changes required in the Environment in the present situation.
Painting Competition:
A painting competition was conducted under the Eco club on 13th August 2021. Students enthusiastically participated by making beautiful posters and paintings related to the environment.
