Computer Socity of India

Computer Society of India (CSI) is the oldest and largest organization of IT and allied professionals in India. It was started on March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. It has 72 chapters across India, 511 student branches, and 100,000 members.

CSI- NMREC Chapter

CSI-NMREC Chapter was established in the year 2020.The main motive of the CSI Student chapter is to encourage the students in not only the academics but also in the other technical aspects.

⦁ Webinar on “Applications and Hands-On Practice of Machine Learning”
The department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a hands-on session titled ‘Applications and Hands-On Practice of Machine Learning ‘ under the Computer Society of India Chapter, by Expert Dr. Ritesh Dash from Reva University, Bangalore on Jan 30, 2021, for second, third and final year students. Approximately 135 students have attended the Webinar.
With machine learning becoming a critical enabler for every sector, this webinar is specifically aimed to help students in learning and understanding the fundamental concepts of AI & ML and also help them leverage cloud machine learning tools. During this webinar participants were introduced to the world of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and thinking machines

⦁ “Webinar on Benefits of CSI Membership”
The department of Computer Science and Engineering organized an interactive CSI membership drive in the form of a webinar titled ‘Webinar on Benefits of CSI Membership’ under the Computer Society of India Chapter, by Mr. Bala Prasad Peddigari, Vice Chairman, CSI Hyderabad on Dec 19, 2020 at 02.00 PM, Around 165 students have attended the Webinar.
Mr. Bala Prasad Peddigari explained the various advantages of taking CSI membership to students like:
⦁ Access to CSI Knowledge Portal and opportunity to member virtual networking through CSI Communities and Blogs.
⦁ Both print and electronic versions of CSI-Communications each month.
⦁ Concessional registration fee for CSI events and training programs.
⦁ Opportunity to become a member of CSI Special Interest Groups and CSI Divisions.
⦁ Opportunity to participate in CSI Divisional research projects.
⦁ Financial support for minor research projects.
⦁ Part sponsorship for presenting papers at prestigious International events.

⦁ CSI Endorsement Seminars
A series of sessions have been conducted for individual classes and sections of computer science students to make them aware about the CSI-NMREC chapter and how CSI membership can help them to enhance their knowledge in the field of new technologies and trends. All the sessions conducted by the department of Computer Science and Engineering and presented by Dr. Sitendra Tamrakar, Branch Counselor CSI – NMREC chapter and associate professor, CSE department.
