NMREC signed an MOU with PURDUE University to collaborate on the EPICS Program to provide experiential education for students of the college. As part of the MOU, the students and staff of Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College shall be trained by faculty of Purdue University. The students of NMREC can participate in Projects of Purdue University, and can have opportunity to visit and participate in special programs of Purdue University. This partnership with Purdue University reflects the commitment of NMREC in enhancing student capabilities through experiential learning.
Workshops were conducted for Faculty and Students of NMREC on EPICS by Prof.William Oakes. Prof.Oakes Visited the campus and gave a live orientation about the role of service-learning through engineering projects addressing real-world societal challenges in areas such as environment, education, and human services. He addressed the students online again and explained about design thinking, and the need for engineers to focus on design thinking.
Director of NMREC Dr.Divya Nalla visited the EPICS Center at Purdue University for the MOU Exchange. During her visit she participated in the Mid term reviews of the EPICS Projects being done by the undergraduate students of Purdue University.
